Good afternoon. Due to the rain, UTK, Kinder, and 1st grade will be dismissed from the auditorium. (As usual, 2nd to 5th graders will be dismissed from the side gate). We will also ask the older siblings to report to the auditorium instead of the kinder gate. Thank you.

Information for today's event:
1. Your child must stay with the teacher/the class during the parade. If you wish to take him/her out early, please check him/her out at the classroom AFTER the parade.

3. We will open the main gate at 12:15 p.m. Our Student Leadership Team will support and guide you to the main yard.
4. The 5th Grade Committee will have the concession stands set up. You can purchase items before or after the parade. (There will be no selling during the parade).
5. Dismissal time today will be at 1:28 p.m.

This is City Terrace Elementary Principal Ms. Hu with an important message for our school community.
On Tuesday, August 22, our school will reopen to regular instruction. For our families, we encourage you to return to school beginning at 7:40 a.m. For employees, this will be a regular work day.
To ensure the safety of our entire school community, our campus has been thoroughly inspected by the District’s maintenance and operations teams for any potential impact caused by Tropical Storm Hilary. They have assured us that our campus remains safe for instruction.
We thank all of you for your flexibility and patience, and we look forward to welcoming you back to school tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22, at 7:40 a.m. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 323-269-0581. See you in school tomorrow!

The Online Application for the 23-24 is now open!
For Returning Volunteers: simply submit another online application for the 23-24 school year — We will just need the Volunteer Commitment form.
For NEW Volunteers:

2. Turn in a copy of the TB test to the school (when you come in, you can also sign the Volunteer Commitment Form)
3. Upload COVID-19 Vaccination record onto dailypass.lausd.net
We hope to have a group of approved volunteers before the school year starts so that we can start the valet program on the first day of school. :) Please give us a call if you have any questions.

Good afternoon Parents. If you are interested in having your child participate in the summer program, please go to https://achieve.lausd.net/summerschool. You can find more information on the different programs the district is offering. Note that City Terrace ES will not be a summer school site. The closest Summer School Site will be Harrison Elementary.
You can:
Option 1: apply online
Option 2: download applications, fill everything out, and turn them into the main office. (Applications will be available on the website later today).
Option 3: Pick up the applications, fill everything out, and turn them in to the main office.
You can message me if you have any questions regarding summer programs. (I don't have all the answers, but I will do my best to share the information we have with you).

Please note that City Terrace ES will continue to have 1:30 p.m. dismissal on Tuesdays until the end of the school year. (Bus students will stay until 2:30). Please check the school Calendar for the updated schedule.

2. 5th-grade students will pick up the donuts for the fundraiser during the day. Parents do NOT need to come on campus. (If it's a large order, please contact the teachers and make arrangements for pick up).
3. Dismissal tomorrow, Friday, 3/30, will be at 12:30 p.m.
4. Acceleration Day: If you still want your child to attend AD (4/3 and 4/4) at Griffin ES, please apply by tomorrow. We have the form available in the office.

Parents. Due to the weather forecast, it will rain Wednesday/Thursday. Hence, we will have the performances available via zoom. We will post zoom information again on Thursday. We will also create a slide show for students' artwork this week. This will be available to parents next week. Thank you all for your understanding.

We are going to have our annual Multicultural Celebration next Thursday, 3/30.
We will have performances, and students have been working hard on different Artworks from around the world. You will have an opportunity to do a gallery walk after the performances.
We will also post updates if it's going to rain...

As a reminder, our school will be closed to students from March 21 to March 23.
Please note that your child should have received a device and/or a take-home packet with activities. If your child has not received a device or packet, or if you have questions on student meals or our after-school programs, please contact the main office from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Students may complete either the paper packet or complete activities in Schoology by logging into Schoology at lms.lausd.net.

Good afternoon. This is Ms. Hu with an important message for families and staff. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains my top priority. We send our sincerest condolences to the Monterey Park community, the victims and their families of last night’s mass shooting.
We are grateful that our school community is safe and as a precautionary measure, our crisis team will be available as needed. In collaboration with School Police and Region East Operations, additional safety supports will also be available as needed.

Preparing for Winter Program.
1. If you are experiencing any cold/flu/COVID/RSV symptoms, please stay home.
2. We will open the main gate at approximately 11:00 a.m.
3. Please note that outside chairs are not allowed on campus (this is a safety concern).
4. If you wish to check out your child before dismissal (12:30), please do so with the teacher in the classroom AFTER the performance. Your child will return to class with his/her class.
5. Adults are NOT allowed to use students' restrooms. (Another safety concern). You can go to the office if you need to use the restroom.

Parents. As we enter flu season, we are noticing more students are out ill. When you or your child experience symptoms, taking a rapid COVID test will be step one. If the symptoms persist, please take your child to the doctor for a proper diagnosis.
Make sure to call the main office if your child will be out and provide a note upon your child's return to school so we can have proper documentation.
Stay Healthy and Be Safe!

2nd to 5th will be dismiss by the side gate (where you drop off the kids in the morning).

The District is providing two (2) free rapid test kits for each student. Please test the student on SATURDAY 4/16 OR SUNDAY 4/17, 2022.
If the test is Negative, no actions are needed and your child can return to school on Monday, 4/18/2022.
If the test is Positive, you are to isolate the child immediately and upload the Positive test to Daily Pass.
We will distribute the test kits this week.

We need your help to keep all of our students and staff safe!
1. If your child experience any cold or flu-like symptoms, please keep him/her home. Monitor the symptoms. If the symptoms last more than 2 days, please take your child to get a COVID test and/or visit a doctor.
2. Teach your child how to properly wash their hands. (See flyer)
3. Teach your child how to properly wear a mask. (see flyer)  
4. Reminding them to NOT share food with their friends.
Because the students are not vaccinated, we need to make sure they understand what they need to do to keep themselves and their friends safe!
